Control on diet does not help
Consuming a fad diet to achieve that ultimate beach-body? Well, you may be doing yourself more harm than good, warns a leading clinical nutritionist. Fad diets may be the quickest way to weight loss but is not a healthy one, according Dr. Jo Ann Carson, professor of clinical nutrition at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
“Fad diets are a temporary fix to a problem that requires a lifelong solution. Healthy eating and exercise habits all year long will keep you beach-body ready for any season,” Dr. Carson said. Any diet that results in more than one to two pounds of weight loss per week, eliminates an entire food group or forces you to eat from one or two food groups and forces a person to take a pill or buy a product, is avoidable.
