 Applying lipstick:
Before applying lipstick, prime your lips with some foundation and powder to remove all color from your lips.
Outline your lips using a sharp lip liner pencil. The shade of your pencil should be same as that of lipstick. For the upper lips, start from the centre and move out towards the corner of the mouth. For the lower lip, work from side to side.
Take some lipstick into a brush and fill along the outline of the lips. For the upper lip, start from the centre and work outwards and for the lower lip, work from side to side. Don’t apply too much of color.
Open your mouth wide and brush the color into the corners, so the edges must not remain unfilled.
Use Vaseline or cream to give shine to your lips after applying lipstick.

Lip gloss:
Lip gloss is used to give a shimmer and a shine to lips. Lip gloss lasts for a longer time and can be water resistant. Lip gloss is applied directly or after the lipstick.

Creamy lipstick can be used to keep the lips moisturized and wet look can be added with the help of lip gloss. Special effects can be achieved by adding shades like silver, gold over lip color. For lips having fine lines, gloss should be used on the centre of the lips.

SHAPING UP YOUR LIPS:

Knowing the shape of lips, you can correct your lip shape and can make you look attractive.

For thick lips: This type of lip appear smaller if you draw the outline just within the natural shape. You must use medium toned lip color and avoid dark brows, plums and pale shimmer shades .
For thin lips: They can be easily corrected by taking the pencil outside the natural lip line. Work on it slowly and steadily to get the perfect shape. Fill in with the lipstick. A highlight of frosting on the upper lip would create an impression of fullness.

For shapeless lips: Try to make the most flattering shape by stressing the centre of the lips and then fill.

Dark lips: There are various reason for the lips to get dark that is the use of cheap brand of lipstick, heavy application of lipstick, sun exposure, drinking tea or coffee in excess. The prime cause of dark lips is smoking. Check whether you are not wearing expired lipstick. It can also be due to dryness and allergy. For maintaining red lips, fresh air, vitamins and iron are required. Keep your lips free from lipstick as much as you can. Take plenty of fruits and vegetables.
 
Applying foundation: 
Apply moisturizer to your face.
Using the flat, smooth surface of round synthetic sponge, pour some foundation on the sponge and apply it in dots and dab all over the face. You can use your finger to apply it.
Blend the foundation in upward and downward direction.
Don’t forget to cover the small areas like creases of nose, under your eyebrows and along the jaw line.
To soak up excess oil and for a natural look, blot the face with a tissue after applying the foundation

Facial morphology:
The ideal facial shape is oval. You can make your different face look like being oval
Round face: The round face is made to appear oval by using dark make up at the temples and around the lower face.
Trapezoidal face: This can be made oval by redefining the lower part with dark foundation and using light make up at the temple.
Rectangular and square face: These shapes are redefined by using dark foundation at four corners.
Triangular face: This type of face needs dark foundation at the temples while the lower face needs enlargement using light make up.

Correcting chin and nose:
Long nose: It appears short by applying dark make up on the tip.
Prominent chin: This can be corrected by applying foundation on tip of the chin.
Double chin: This can be corrected by applying dark foundation on the double chin.
Short nose: Apply a pale make up along the top of the nose along its whole length.
Narrow nose: Apply dark foundation on both sides.
Crooked nose: Cover the crooked side with a dark foundation and opposite side with light foundation
 
Applying mascara:
The first step is to decide the color you want to apply. If you have blond or red lashes, opt for brown mascara. If you have very dark lashes, then consider brown for a casual look and black and black-brown for dramatic lashes.
Make sure that your all eye make is completed before applying mascara. You cane even curl your lashes with an eyelash curler, if needed.
 
For applying mascara, first look down and brush the top lashes from the roots downwards, then look up and brush the top lashes upwards. Then looking upward only, brush the color of lower lashes. Wait for a minute to let them dry and similarly apply second coat. Brush your lashes with clean dry brush to separate them after applying the mascara.
 
for applying eye mascara:
If your mascara is new and the deposit on the corners is plentiful, tissue off the wand before applying to prevent smudging
Never curl your eyelashes after applying mascara because they can stick to the pad on curler.
Contact lens wearer should use waterproof mascara’s formula as there is minimum chance of any flakes getting into the eyes.
Always remove mascara before going to bed. This will keep lashes healthier While removing the mascara, avoid the color from going on to the delicate area below the bottom lashes and close your eyes. Roll a cotton bud dipped in cosmetic cleaner over the lashes, taking mascara down on the tissues. Repeat this until all mascara removes.

Applying eye-liner:
There are two types of eye liners available- eye pencil and liquid eye liner. In beginning stage, use eye pencil. After practicing liquid eye liner can be used.
Step 1 : Hold your lining device. Make your elbow steady at a flat surface and draw a thin line as close as you can to the base of your eye lids. Start from the inner corner of your eye and move to the outer corner.
Step 2 : After finishing the lining, lightly smudge the line you just drew i.e. mix the line a little so it doesn’t look a distinct line. It will remove the harshness of the line.
Step 3 : Repeat the process for the bottom of your eyes.
 
The following should be followed:
Tip 1: The lining of rim of the eye should be avoided.
Tip 2: For wide set eyes, the should be on the inner corners of the eye, for close set eyes should be on outer corners keeping the inner corners highlighted.
Tip 3: For liquid liner, test on the back of the hand the pressure you can apply. While lining if you stop at the corner of the eyes, the effect will be round and wide-eyed.
Tip 4: The larger the eyelid area, the thicker and softer the eyeliner should be. The smaller the eyelid area, the thinner and more intense the eyeliner should be

Applying eye shadow:
First decide the color you want to use. Almond color is considered best for eye but using three to four color will look good only if they are mixed well.
Mix it well. There must not be any line which shows where the color starts or stops
Using a fine, blunt-ended brush, apply the base color eye shadow to the entire lid from inside to outside corner of the eye.
If u want to mix three to four colors, then use
Dark: Apply this on eyelids from lash line to the crease in the eyelid
Highlight: Apply this to brow bone and extend to the outer end of the brow. This is lightest color and usually gives a pearly finish.
Medium: Apply this just below the eyelid crease to the brow bone. You can even shade the entire lid with shade first.

for applying eye shadow:
To give a smoky look to your eyes, prefer using dark colors, like blue, grey or black. Brush them at the outer corners and blend them well. Don’t move further more than quarter inch away from your eye.
Check the eye shadow on the back of your hand before applying them to eyelids.
The color gets lighter as it stacks above the eyes
The different forms of eye shadow available are:
Loose powder
Liquids
Sticks
Pressed powders
Creams
Out of these, pressed powders are easiest to apply and creams are most difficult to apply.
Apply a lighter eye shadow color above your primary color and below your eyebrow.

Steps to apply concealer are:
Take small amount of concealer on your fingertip. Apply a dot of it under the eye, moving from outside corner of eye to the inner corner. Put a bit slightly below your dark circles and cover other spots and blemishes.
Blend it very well, using your fingers in a gentle back and forth dotting motion. Avoid pulling or rubbing the under eye
After applying it, just check out by smiling in front of the mirror. It must not creep into the little lines around your eyes. If it is so, blot gently with a tissue.

Applying liquid concealer:
This come in a tube, just squeeze a tiny amount of the product on your fingertip and apply it over the affected area.
 
Applying cream concealer:
They are available in a tube, with a sponge tipped applicator. Apply it using applicator. This gives a natural look.
 
Applying stick concealer:
They are very easy to apply, simply apply it onto . But try the samples before buying as sometimes they can be heavy and with thick consistency.
Concealer should be one shade lighter then foundation.
Sometimes it is recommended to use concealer brushes, but it is best to make use of your finger because it helps in avoiding pulling tugging of delicate To remove concealer from your face, use a face cleanser instead of rubbing the with soap and water.
Don’t apply more than two coats of concealer at a time.
